Contracts for sale of real estate must be in writing – Singapore real estate agency

By virtue of section 6(d) of the Civil Law Act, sale or other disposition of immovable property, or any interest in such property, shall be in writing for contract to be enforceable.  Written evidence can take the form of correspondence. Singapore real estate agency.

  • Contract to grant an option for sale for the property was binding between the parties when (at the latest) the 1% cheque had been deposited into the owners’ bank account because the requirements for the formation of a valid contract would have been fulfilled at this particular point in time. Owner has to sell property even if he has not signed the option.
