Who is to pay stamp duty? – Condo for sale Singapore

General rule – purchaser, tenant or mortgagor pays stamp duty. Rule may be varied by special agreement between parties. Condo for sale Singapore.

When to pay?

  • For sale of HDB resale flats: within 14 days from the date of HDB’s in-principle approval.
  • For sale of private properties: within 14 days from the date of exercising of the Option to Purchase or date of the Sale and Purchase Agreement, whichever is earlier.
  • For tenancy agreements executed in Singapore: within 14 days of the date of the document.
  • For tenancy agreements executed overseas: within 30 days from the date of receipt of document in Singapore.
