Singapore property for rent/ sale – The differences between a lease and a licence are as follows:

  • A lease gives a person the exclusive possession of land over a fixed period of time.
  • A licence is only to allow a person temporary permission to occupy land.
  • That person under licence does not have interest in land.
  • A licence may be revoked by the grantor anytime
  • A licence is not transferable.
  • A licence expires upon the licensee’s death
