Calculation of share value – Room for rent in Singapore
In the case of residential properties, occupancy is taken into account because it reflects usage directly. Floor areas are used to take into account the different number of occupants, who are likely to stay in a unit. It is assumed that units within a larger floor have more occupants and thus incur a higher proportion of maintenance costs of the common property. The share values based on the floor area are as shown in the table below. Room for rent in Singapore.
Floor area | Share value |
50 sq m and below | 5 |
51 sq m to 100 sq m | 6 |
101 sq m to 150 sq m | 7 |
151 sq m to 200 sq m | 8 |
201 sq m to 250 sq m | 9 |
251 sq m to 300 sq m | 10 |
The above share value based on the new method increases by one for every 50 sq m of floor area. Under the old method, i.e. before April 2005, the share value increases by one for every 100 sq m.
