Purpose of CPF Housing Grant – HDB for sale in Singapore
– The CPF Housing Grant is a housing subsidy given to first-timer citizen in the form of CPF payment paid directly into the buyer’s CPF Ordinary account (not cash) ready for payment towards the purchase of a HDB resale flat. For new HDB flats, buyers can only apply for Additional CPF Housing Grant (AHG). The purpose of the government hand-out is to assist eligible first-timer Singapore citizens to buy HDB resale flats from the resale market as they may be in need of the HDB flats now instead of waiting for a few years for brand new HDB flats to be ready – HDB for sale in Singapore.
