Due diligence check clause – Property in Singapore for sale
The law has made it a requirement that the landlord must perform due diligence by checking on the particulars of the tenant. It is usually stated in the tenancy that: the tenant shall deliver to the landlord for inspection every occupant’s original travel documents, employment letter and work permit or employment pass or any relevant pass issued by any Singapore government authority prior to the occupant’s stay at the premises. The landlord shall be entitled to inspect the premises for the purpose of checking the identities of the occupant at all reasonable times and the tenant shall ensure that all necessary original documents are produced for the landlord’s inspection.
