Old compensation method before amendments: based on market value as at date of acquisition or value as at 1 Jan 1995, whichever is lower. Potential value of property is not taken into account.
W.e.f 12 Feb 2007, compensation based on market value as at date of acquisition. Aggrieved person who is not happy with the compensation amount can write to the Appeals Board (under Ministry of Law).
Singapore Land Authority (SLA) is the sole government authority responsible for the administration of the Land Acquisition Act.
